Brownish Discharge After Period: Causes & What to Do
QuestionI have been on birth control since Feb 2011. In December, I did not refill my prescription. I had a period Nov. 13-16. Then had unprotected sex multiple times with my fiance until my next period that occurred from December 17-20 like normal. However, on January 4th, just two weeks later, I began to start having a brownish discharge, almost as thick as a normal period but not like period blood and it is still happening now, only it has become lighter almost a week later. I began retaking my birth control a few days prior to the discharge. Is it possible I am pregnant and this is implantation bleeding even though I had a period in December, or is it just from my medication?
AnswerDear Ash
Yes this can either be an implantation bleeding or miscarriage. However implantation bleeding is of short duration not more than 2 days. Therefore, early miscarriage can be the reason. I advise examination and probably vaginal ultrasound for proper diagnosis.
Good Luck
