Understanding Pregnancy Symptoms: Protrusion & Upper Abdominal Discomfort
QuestionI am 24 weeks pregnant, I have noticed when I am laid down and I sit up or if I raise my legs whilst laid down a soft mass protrudes between the belly button and breast bone in a dome shape, it isn't painful but looks odd. Also after eating I am experiencing what feels like spasms under my breast bone where I imagine my stomach to be. Is this normal in pregnancy? Or have I got a stomach hernia or something? This is my first pregnancy so I have no idea if these symptoms are normal or not.

This is most likely some type of hernia. It can be repaired if you plan to deliver by Cesarean section. However; if not, consultation with a general surgeon is a must.
In all circumstances, you should inform your caring Obstetrician about it.
