Ovulation Dates: Calculating Your Fertile Window

I get my period around the 13 of every month so what days are my ovulation days?

Answer
Your ovulation days are generally about the middle of your cycle.  With a 30 day cycle you would ovulate around day 15 (13 + 15 = 28th of the month.  The egg lives only one day but sperm can live several days, so you are fertile for a few days before and after ovulation.  The best way to determine your ovulation days at home is by taking your temperature with a basal thermometer at the same time very morning before you get out of bed and start moving around.  

If you write this temperature number down on a graph you will see that at ovulation the temperature goes up at least .4 degree and stays up until your period starts.  You can learn more about charting your cycles from this website:  http://www.nfpandmore.org/
