QuestionI had a thinning cervix in my last pregnancy. It was found at 28 weeks. I didn't have any contractions. All during my bedrest I tried to research it, but could only find information about incompetent cervix and cerclage earlier in pregnancy, and the preterm labor information was about women with contractions or water breaking. Can you recommend any books, websites, etc? I'd like to feel like I have more information and knowledge to make decisions during this pregnancy. Thank you!
AnswerHi Jenna,
I've done a little bit of digging around and unfortunately, found what you did...that most of the information out there is about preterm labor involving incompetent cervix or simply going into labor too early.
I would suggest that you visit a couple of website and perhaps start a thread on their sites asking other people's experiences. I found several sites that had people asking questions about this topic by typing in "thinning cervix early in pregnancy".
It would also be a good idea to consult directly with a midwife or other healthcare professional who could give you some preventative kinds of advice.
Hope all goes well with you!
