QuestionI am 32 yrs old and have suffered irregular periods for the past year and half, i have recently had a endemetrial ablasion for this but i have recently started with other symptoms such as hot flushes, night sweats, mood swings and weight gain, i had my bloods taken last week and had my results today, my Dr has told me that my hormone balance is low but would not say what this implies, he says i am too young to be going thriugh the menopause, have i started perimenopause?
AnswerYou are describing all the symptoms of peri-menopause, so it's hard to say. My sister-in-law started at 30, so it's totally possible. I wouldn't worry about the label "Menopause," just treat the symptoms. If your current doctor won't treat the low hormones, find an alternative doctor who will. There are bio-identicals hormones that can help ease all of these symptoms. Check out www.everthingmenopause.com and look for a doctor in your area.
Diet and exercise all very important as well. Stay hydrated, lots of water is very important.
Good luck.
