Delayed Period at 14: Understanding Menstruation & Development

I'm not sure if i'm emailing the right person but you're a woman so you can probably help anyway. I'm 14 and I haven't gotten my period yet. I have been getting discharge for almost a year and it is getting a lot heavier. I am light weight for my age (90 pounds, 5'3) so i'm not sure if that's delaying it. Can you tell me something about what is going on? Thanks so much.

You're right, I'm not the right person for this question. Typically girls start menustration around the same time their mother's did. I was 16, some women are much younger. Doesn't sound like anything to worry about. Relax and let nature take it's course.
