QuestionHi Beth,
I had been having abdominal pain for months, and my doctor had advised me to take nexium to see if the pain will go away. The pain is still there, and it hasnt been working. I
I recently took a blood test and my bilirubin test results are 20.3 umol. My doctor said nothings wrong, but i'm still in a lot of pain. Is 20.3 umol fatal? What should I do ?
AnswerKevin,
A bilirubin level of 20.3 isn't fatal. If you are still experiencing pain, I would call your doctor and find out how long he/she thinks it will take for you to see results with the nexium. If you should be feeling better by now, ask him/her what the next course of action will be - what other tests will be ordered or what other medications you can try to help with the pain. If he/she isn't taking your complaint seriously, I would suggest finding another doctor.
