Understanding High WBC & Low Vitamin D: What Do Your Lab Results Mean?

Question
I just received lab results with the following results after my regular visit:

WBC 12.4
Absolute Neutrophils 9089
Vit D 20

My last CBC was 4 years ago and my WBC was 11.1.  My Dr wants me to have another test in 3 months to see if these numbers remain the same or if further testing is necessary.  Are these numbers so far outside the high/low level that would be cause for concern?

Answer
Hi Rosanna.  I do agree with your doctor on this one.  Your WBC is only slightly high, which is unlikely to be of clinical significance, as long as you're feeling well.  (A high WBC count count could indicate an infection.)  Like your doctor is doing, I would recommend a recheck, and then do further testing if necessary.
