Post-BCS PCOS: Fertility Options & Next Steps
QuestionSarah-
I have pcos pretty badly. I have in the past had upwards of 30 cysts on my left ovary. I very rarely ovulate. I used clomid for 8 months to conceive my son, (he passed away as an infant of spinal menningitis) We have decided we are ready to have another child and wonder what to do next. I am getting ready to make an appointment, but am wondering if there is anyway to steer clear of meds. Probably not, but what do you think. I am going to stop birth control which has effectively regulated my menstration. should i go directly to clomid or not?

AnswerDear Marsha,
I'm sorry to hear of your loss. It is never easy to lose a child and it is brave to be ready to move on and conceive. If you very rarely ovulate, you will likely need some kind of stimulation medication to get pregnant. Have you had an ultrasound recently to confirm that you are still not ovulating?
