Thyroid and Fertility: How Long to Conceive?

Hello Sir,


I am married for year and half now.Have been diagnonised with Thyroid.On medication now.My question is if i take proper medication and lose weight how much ime would be required to conceive I mean months?Not other health issues other then thyroid.

Hello Shilpa,

I am sorry but you have not given me enough information to answer your question.  Getting pregnant depends on many different things.  Age is also a factor as to your chances of getting pregnant, as well as, you health, weight, ovarian function, etc.

Definitely, thyroid can interfere, so it is good that you are getting that taken care of.
