Questioni'm 19yrs of age who is currently trying to get pregnant on now on clostilbegyt50mg .i'm now on the second round of treatment. what i want to know how long should i take it to get pregnant.
AnswerHello Alecia from Jamaica,
I'm afraid I cannot answer your question without more information. Why are you on this medication? Are there any other problems going on? Are you responding to the treatment?
If there are no other problems beside a lack of ovulation, for which you were placed on this medication, then you would have the same chances of pregnancy as a normal woman your age. It would usually take 8-12 months on average, to achieve pregnancy. Most patients undergoing ovulation induction will achieve pregnancy within 4-6 cycles, if they ovulate more than one egg at a time, and the intercourse is timed well.
Fertility medications are NOT magic. They are used to treat a specific disorder. If the medication is not used properly, as many general doctors do, then it will not work. The treatment has to treat the problem or problems in order to achieve pregnancy.
