QuestionHi,
I am Neetu writing from India aged 29 years , I have been trying to conceive for last 2 years but failed. I had a miscarriage in year 2008 in 2/3 month due to unknown reasons after water discharge and sever pains. I was on Oral contraceptive pills (A low dose combination of Levonorgestrel and Ethinylestradiol Tablets I.P) for last 1 years (2007 till 2008) and conceived after 3 months of discontinuing the pills. Since there has been no luck. Now I have irregular menstrual cycle and weight gain.
I have tested for Thyroid, Trans vaginal sonogram, test for blockage of phillipns tubes, ovulation test but everything is normal as per report and my husband is also went for semen analysis for 3 times and his reports are fine.
Our Docs has advised to try the luck but we are now worried and its almost 4-5 months but we are not getting success.
Pl guide which test should we further take and what may be the cause of the problem.

If you have irregular menstrual cycles, that is an indication that your ovaries are not functioning correctly. So the treatment that you need is to use fertility medications to induce the ovary to ovulate. We call this "ovulation induction." I would recommend that you see a fertility specialist to begin this treatment. Your current doctor has advised you incorrectly because you need treatment in order to ovulate and trying on your own would have a low chance of success. Once you see the right specialist and get the appropriate treatment, you probably will be successful in getting pregnant since you have been pregnant before.
