Blighted Ovum & Early Pregnancy: Pain, Testing & Prenatal Care - Seeking Advice
QuestionHi, last month before i got my period i apparently had a blighted ovum and the doctor told me that i will sorta have a miscarriage. When my period came i was in excruchiating pain. my last period was on dec 21st and i went to see the dr and she took a urine preg test and told me it was positive and prescribed me prenatal pills that im taking forr 3 days now. i am married for a yr and a month now and the 1st 5-6 months i was taking BC pills and i got off them wen i wanted to get preg. and it has been really hard for me. now that my dr toldd me that i am, i am really worried that i might have a miscarriage again...my symptoms are mood swings left and rught the past 2 weeks, nausia, no vommiting though, no spotting, losts of lower abdomen pain like cramps....what do u think can happen? can this be a healthy preg right after the next month of a blighted ovum?
thanks for reading this.
AnswerHello,
It is certainly possible to have a normal pregnancy following a miscarriage. Usually most women do go on to have normal pregnancies after one or two miscarriages. The cramps you are having could be implantation related but you may wish to have an ultrasound around 6 weeks or so, to determine if the pregnancy is viable. Good luck
