QuestionHello! I would like to ask do i need to have my tubes untied to get pregnant or could i get a fertility drug or something to help me have a baby
AnswerHello Sophia,
If your tubes are damaged or you have had a tubal ligation, which essentially does the same thing, then you cannot get pregnant naturally without having surgery to fix the tubes. This is called a tubal reanastamosis. This surgery is a microscopic surgery and more difficult and more expensive than a tubal ligation. It also does not always work. The alternative is an infertility procedure called In Vitro Fertilization, which is much more successful than the surgery, costs about the same, and is more successful. For that reason, nowadays, most couples will choose to use IVF rather than have te surgery done. If the surgery fails, you have to go to IVF anyways.
