QuestionHI I AM A 29 YR OLD FEMALE WHO HAS NEVER GOTTEN PREGNANT BEFORE. FINALLY AFTER 8YRS OF UNPROTECTED SEX I GOT PREGNANT IN 2009.THE PREGNANCY WAS UNEXPECTED SO ME AND MY FIANCE DECIDED TO GET A MEDICAL ABORTION AT 8 WKS. NOW ALMOST 2YRS LATER I HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO CONCEIVE AGAIN AND IM REALLY WORRIED THAT I MIGHT HAVE PASSED ON MY ONLY OPPORTUNITY TO HAVE A BABY. THIS SITUATION HAS CAUSED ALOT OF REGRET ON MY BEHALF FOR ABORTING MY ONLY PREGNANCY ESPECIALLY WHEN IT WAS SO HARD TO ACHIEVE IN THE FIRST PLACE. DO YOU HAVE ANY ADVICE FOR MY SITUATION?

Before you jump to the conclusion that you won't be able to get pregnant, you need to undergo testing first. It is very likely that something is interfering with your chances to get pregnant but there are lots that can be done to treat infertility. It is just a matter of finding out what the problem or problems are. I would strongly recommend that you go see an infertility specialist and undergo evaluation. It may have nothing to do with your prior abortion.
