Patient Testimonial: Exceptional OB-GYN Care - Dr. Ramirez

Question
Hi Dr. Ramirez,
I use to be your patient about 7-8 yrs ago when I lived in Salinas we moved to Las Vegas, NV. I just want to tell you that you where and are the best OB that I ever had!  Thank you for everything!

I had to remove both fallopean tubes (which you removed one) due to ectopic so the only chance I have to concieve is IVF. I since remarried and I am currently on my 5th cycle of IVF due to high FSH. I have had a transfer everytime except for one. I only had 1 follicle everytime...matured and fertilized. This last one I actually got an 8 Cell Grade 2 embroyo!   That was transferred on Monday.  What do you think my chances are that this will work for us this time?  All of the other's only broke down to 4-5 cell and 3 did not implant. I had one positive preganacy however lost it a few days later. I am feeling differet than all of the other attempts.....cramping, soreness, leggs cramps, fatigue
Thank you again Dr. Ramirez!

Answer
Hello Julie from the U.S.,

Thank you for the complement.  I am sorry that you did not come to me for IVF.  In case you didn't know, I do IVF here in my office and our pregnancy rates have been high.  In 2008 we moved to a brand new facility and our pregnancy rates are even higher!

I am sorry to hear about all the failed IVF cycles.  Certainly it sounds like you have a decreased ovarian reserve and therefore, do not stimulate well.  An 8 cell grade 2 embryo is a very good embryo and, hopefully, will do the trick.  We'll have to wait and see, and I wish you the best of luck.  I can't comment as to your chances because I don't know your age or the pregnancy statistics for your clinic, but just based on the embryo transferred, and if it was transferred well without any difficulty, I think you have a good chance.

Good Luck,
