Vaginal Itch During or Before Period: Causes & Solutions

please is it normal to have vaginal itch just before menses or during menses. thanks

Hello Olusegun,

No it is not normal to have vaginal itching around or at the time of menses.  Itching around the vagina is usually a sign of some type of infection.  Yeast infections are the most common and are more prevalent at the time of menses, as well as, after antibiotic treatments, douching, intercourse, hormonal changes, etc.  If you have vaginal itching, I would recommend that you see your gynecologist for an examination.
