Understanding Amenorrhea After PCOS: A Diagnostic Guide

Question
I am a bit confused. I was originally diagnosed with PCOS but my diagnosis was changed when my lab tests revealed a testosterone level of 17 and an extremely low estradiol level (below 20). I have never had any symptoms of androgen excess and my weight tends to be a bit on the lower side (I am 5'4'' about 120 lbs). I have never had insulin resistance.

For the last three years, my menstrual cycles have been normal but I have developed amenorrhea again. Should I have a full amenorrhea work-up again? Do I need to go back to a reproductive endocrinologist or can this be managed by an OB/GYN? Is Yaz still a good option if my estradiol levels are very low again?

Thanks again.

Answer
Hello Again,

A reproductive endocrinologist would be the best one to see, not a general Ob/Gyn.  for now, Yaz or any birth control pill is appropriate to keep you regular and replace the hormones that you need.
