QuestionHi Doctor
I am 46,in good general health.I recently had a complete physical.I am not a big drinker, but enjoy a cold beer or two on the weekend or after sports.
Occasionaly,I am invited to parties or for drinks after work.I always make sure I have something in my stomach.
Lately,I have noticed it takes me less alcohol to get drunk.
Last Friday, after with a big meal in my stomach,I had drank four or five beers when I was feeling and looking noticeably intoxicated.I got a friend to drive me home, and I was in bed by 8:30.
This is probably not a bad thing, but when I was younger I could stay up and party hearty all night.
Is this an age related thing? I have lost some weight and am in better shape from a summer of playing soccer.Would this increased fitness level also have something to do with it?
