Swollen, Painful Taste Buds: Causes, Relief & When to See a Doctor
QuestionI have very swollen tast buds on the the tip of my tongue and they hurt very bad. What can I do to help with the pain and to get these thing to go away. They hurt so bad I almost can't stand it.
AnswerHi Jeanine,
These little painful lesions are common in people with gastic problems. They can be caused by excess acid and excess sugar intake. There is no treatment or cure for them. They just have to go away by themselves. You MIGHT ask your doctor to test you for H. Pylori bacteria. This can cause stomach problems and may be connected to these lesions. H. Pylori CAN be treated.
