Persistent Cough: Causes, Relief, and When to See a Doctor

Question
Hello,
I am 19 years old and I have only gone to the doctor's twice, all broken bones. I have been contemplating on making another visit soon, but I just don't believe in going for a cough. I have had this cough for well over 2 months and it goes away for days at a time. When it gets strong for about a week or two I will wake up and feel sick. Just an extremely unpleasant stomach pain, kind of like being hungry but yet scared to eat because I might puke. The cough will continue bother me and eventually become a dry-heave or I may vomit a thick secretion. It can sometimes look like foam or even a luggie. (i.e., gob of spit.) Now puking has only occurred a hand-full of times, so I don't know if its relevant. Please Help Me!

Answer
may be a chronic sinus or chest infection (mild) could be allergies... I would try some zantac for the stomach and some over the counter claritan for the cough and if not better over the next 2 weeks, then you will be stuck getting and evaluation by the doctor....
