QuestionI am 42, not overweight, jog 5-6 days per month...Last year I began feeling tightness in my eyes, pressure in my head...even sharp pains in left side of chest, sometimes dizzy or racing heart...after days of this, checked BP and it was 172/104...I freaked - normal is 112/68. Doctor ran tests on thyroid, kidneys, liver? all tests normal. Went to cardiologist and had a nucleic stress test(?) done - normal...BP stayed high on and off several months, then seemed to just level off around 130/85 or so. Now, the past few months, I have been at the doctor at least 8 times with spikes like this again - it is scary. A month ago, After lying down in bed, my legs and then body started shaking, uncontrollably. My first thought is, for some reason, am I in shock? My BP was 177/100 that night, and the pulse was 78...I laid in bed that night and felt like I was jogging for 2 hours! Three weeks ago I was up all night PEEING huge blood clots...doctor diagnosed bladder infection with that, and then I have felt no BP issues since then..But,most recently, last night I took 3 200mg Ibuprofen for a tooth that got filled and was hurting. I was fine, but in bed about 4 hours later, my heart started racing, I had a lot of gas (which is common also for the past year or so), and my body started doing the shaking thing...lasted for about 1 1/2 hours, BP 179/98. This morning I was fine, BP 132/78. I felt pretty god all day, some pressure in left side of head...mild headache, so at 5 I took 2 Ibuprofen (I do not usually take pain meds so readily.) Well, then about 9:30 or so tonight, I was watching TV and started getting the shakes, hot spells, and weak legs again......
I AM VERY FRUSTRATED WITH ALL OF THIS...Tonight I am wondering, do I maybe have a sensitivity to IB? I never have in the past...Do you have ANY ideas for help?
Thanks so much!
Answerthat is strange... sometimes we worry about adrenal tumors... we look at that initially by doing a count of VMA and metanephrines in a 24 hour urine collection. But it sounds like you need an eval by an endocrinologist or nephrologist to help sort it out.... hope this helps...
