Understanding Thyroid Nodules and Chest CT Findings: A Patient Explanation

Question
I was dx with four 3-5 mm eccentric echogenic focus characteristic for benign adenomatous colloid nodules on my thyroid gland. What exactly does this mean in patient terms? Also, I had a CT scan without contrast of my chest.
The CT scan showed a minimal amount of aortic arch calcification, a small nodular region in the left lower lobe (-241), and in the posteromedial right lower lobe costophrenic angle may represent a small calcified granuloma. Lastly, a 1 mm caliceal calcification at the upper pole right kidney. What does all of this mean. Should I wait or be concerned? What do calcifications come from and how do I rid my body of calcifications? Please help!

Answer
I was dx with four 3-5 mm eccentric echogenic focus characteristic for benign adenomatous colloid nodules on my thyroid gland. What exactly does this mean in patient terms?
Answer: most likely a goiter where the gland fills with throid storage hormone, but ask for a thyroid perioxidase test called a TPO to rule out hashimoto's thyroiditis which is an immune disorder linked to eating gluten, which is in wheat barly or rye products like baked goods.

Also, I had a CT scan without contrast of my chest.
The CT scan showed a minimal amount of aortic arch calcification,
Answer: likely from cholesterol and triglyncerides from too much omega-6 plant oil, see http://efaeduction.nih.gov

a small nodular region in the left lower lobe (-241), and
Answer: needs to be monitored in 6 months with CT repeat to be sure it is not cancer, again from too much omega-6 plant oil, if foods like pastries, chicken, turkey, peanut products, chips of all kinds, flax, and granola

in the posteromedial right lower lobe costophrenic angle may represent a small calcified granuloma.
Answer: granulomas are areas of old infection of the lung.

Lastly, a 1 mm caliceal calcification at the upper pole right kidney. What does all of this mean.
Answer: usually due to parathyroid disease, ask for a PTH and calcium level, usually due to deficiency of magnesium oxide in your diet

Should I wait or be concerned?
Answer: Yes, but do the tests I mentioned and get followup CT.

What do calcifications come from and how do I rid my body of calcifications?
Answer: these are from inflammation that follows infections but basic cause it too much omega-6 plant oil, so see the nih site mentioned above.
