Getting Pregnant After Stopping Birth Control: What You Need to Know

I have been on the birth control pill for 9 years. My husband and I are thinking about starting a family soon. I have heard that after being on birth control pill for so long, that it may take me a year or longer to get pregnant, but then I've also heard that I could easily get pregnant RIGHT after stopping the pill. What is the correct answer?

you can get pregnant after stopping the pill right away.... there isn't a lag time like you would have if you were on the depo provera shot.   the best chance of getting pregnant is to have sex right in between cycles, meaning 14 days before your next cycle.  There are ovulation test kits that show when you ovulate... you might talk to your ob if you want to maximize your chances.
