QuestionHello,
Im a 25 year old male. I drink beer daily, average about 10 or so. For the past 2 months I've been having a very bad taste in my mouth 24/7, no matter how much I brush my teeth, and my foods taste really odd and have really no appetite. Left side chest pain, and alot more frequent palpitations. I lost 15lbs in the past month unintentionally, I dont do any exercise or any strenous activity. I just started recently in the past 2 weeks getting these like muscle cramps or like shooting muscle pains, in my calves, thighs, feet, and in my head. My urine output has decreased alot, I've had blood tests for kidney function, liver, and electrolytes, all good. and blood test for minerals, zinc, calcium, iron. all normal. also had a MRI of head/ without contrast. Normal I just have a general feelings of illness and stomach pains. I can just tell something is not right inside my body. Also have history of PVC's, and a 26 beat run of V-Tach, EP said that it was benign, and most likely Idiopathic Ventricular Tachycardia, that was most likely originating from the left or right outflow tract. My lower back also hurts, its like I can feel it inside me, my organs hurt not like outside pain. I just know something isnt right. What could this be? This taste in my mouth is HORRIBLE.Why do i have this unexplained weight loss?
AnswerYou have a lot of diverse symptoms and I don't know if I can tie them all together....
that is a LOT of beer.... you need to put that in perspective and make sure there isn't a problem there.
Bad taste in mouth- in general, I worry about dental disease, also reflux... acid coming up into the mouth at night damaging teeth, taste buds, etc.
Despite urine decreasing, if your blood tests for kidney function are normal, then they are.
The weight loss is also worrisome.... I would head back to your doc and discuss all of it and I tend to do a sed rate (ESR) in this setting... it doesn't point me right to the problem but it strongly suggests there is one.
I hope this helps....
