Anise Seed Tea for IBS: Benefits, Risks & Moderation

Question
If someone has IBS could drinking too much Anise seed tea cause them to have diarrhea and/or any other problems?

Answer
Ken,

Anise tea is recommended as a therapy (therapeutic) tea/beverage for the relief of IBS.  and should relieve problems of diarrhea.  However, moderation in all things.  Too much of ANYthing is in no way good in the long term.  I would say no more than 2 to 3 glasses of anise tea per day (24-hrs).  You may want to use Fennel tea and/or another adaptogen herbal tea called Jiaogulan alternatively in stead of relying on just one "tea" beverage.  For more on Jiaogulan you can "google" the words "jiaogulan" and my name "Saleeby" to find out more about this amazing adaptogenic herbal tea.

I usually advocate tea blends or mixes versus a SINGLE herbal tea.  Try mixing it up a bit and you will probably have better results.

In good health,
