Sudden Fainting in Elderly Woman: Causes & Concerns
QuestionMy friend 83yrs female. 2 weeks ago passed out, since then does it more and vomits every time she does it and when she gets up to walk around. In hospital but no-one can find a cause. On intervenous and fading fast. Doctors wanted a priest last night but she survived and is still with us. On meds for asthma for many years. Have apparently done all tests and nothing shows. It has to be something?? active lady previous to this. Thanks
Answerrepeated fainting usually involves the circulatory system, either heart problems, or low blood pressure episodes.... there are a lot of causes and difficult to work through sometimes at that age.
I would look at the heart... with an echo, check labs, but it sounds like that has already been done......
