Loette Pill Side Effects & Unexpected Bleeding: What to Know

I am on Loette (I have been for about 5 months after swapping from Monefeme which i was probably on for about 4 months) I usually take it around the same time everyday and have never had any problems with it until this month.  For a week i had a brown/red discharge similar to that at the end of your period, and now this week have gotten my period, however I am still on the pink pills for another 4 days. Why would it have started early and does it starting early mean the pill may not have been working for the days beforehand??

Hi Heather,

One of the side effects of the pill can be spotting or bleeding between periods. Also, because of the hormones in the birth control pills, your cycle can become irregular. I'm not sure about your statement about the pill not working because of you starting early. I advise you to ask your doctor about that. What has been happening in the last few days?
