Herpes During Pregnancy: Risks & Current Treatments

Hello:

If a pregnant women has genital herpes and gives birth, will the baby have herpes as well?  And also, is there a cure soon to be available for herpes?

The doctor has to be notified, in this case. Yes, I don't have all the info in front of me but I have researched this situation in the past.
