QuestionI have read about women using TENS Machines on their back, while in labor, to interfere with the pain signals. Have you heard of this? Do you know how it works? Is it worth renting one?
Thank You
AnswerHello!
TENS machines have had some success with back pain in labor, but not always. It can take some getting used to rather than just putting in on for the first time during labor.
It also depends on where your giving birth as many U.S. hospitals have "policies" that may not allow you to use it! Silly, I know, but it's best to talk with your doctor or midwife.
In General, TENS will not take the sensation of labor away, but may relieve some back pain.
