Multiple C-Sections: What You Need to Know

Question
how many c section births can one woman have

Answer
There is no hard and fast rule.  Some women can successfully have nine, ten, or more c-sections.  A lot depends on how carefully each surgery is performed, and whether or not the surgeon is especially considerate of the possibility of future births.  A surgeon who takes his time and cleans out as many adhesions as possible with each surgery will make future surgeries less complicated.  Also, some depends on how well the woman heals.  Almost everyone forms adhesions, or extra scar tissue, after a c-section, but some women form more than others.  These adhesions are very tough, and cutting through them and/or removing them in subsequent surgeries can be very time consuming.  This doesn't make it dangerous per se, but because it takes a lot of time and care to work around, some doctors may not be want to deal with it...which takes you right back to finding the right doctor who is supportive of large families and willing to do what is necessary to help you with your reproductive goals.
