Breech Pregnancy Symptoms: Rib & Back Pain - Is This Normal?

hey my name is rebecca and im 36wks pregnant and i found out last week that my baby boy is breeched.i have been having major rib pain like so bad that it feels like my rib is burning.i have also been having major back pain preferably on my left side and my mom says it could be back labor....i cant swleep at night and like i said my bby is breeched ...should i be worried about any of this?The other night the back pain was so intense that it made me cry...i dont kno what to do. please help me!

Hi Rebecca,

There's still a small chance your breech baby might turn on his own and give you some relief. But if not, ask if your doctor will try an inversion, where they attempt to turn the baby by manipulating the mother's abdomen from the outside. An experienced doctor can usually do this pretty quickly. As for your back pain, if it is chronic and severe, I would call your doctor and asked to be checked out, as this can sometimes be a sign of preterm labor.
