Persistent Postpartum Bleeding: What to Know

Question
I had delivered a baby over 2 months ago.  The bleeding has not stopped yet and now it seems more red in color then it was before.  I did not breast feed please let me know if its normal.

Answer
Bleeding for over 2 months after the birth is not normal.

Either you are doing too much, being too active, or there is a problem with healing not going on properly with your body.

You can take a couple of days and limit your activity and see if the bleeding slows down and stops.  If it does not slow down after a couple of days of limited activity, or if you are still having bleeding in a week, you need to contact your obstetrician or midwife.

I hope it subsides soon!
