Question
November 2006 Mammo - mammary tissue dense. Scattered calcifications right greater than left again noted.  No evidence of new tight cluster of suspicious microcalcifications.  January 2007 bilateral US with well circumscribed oval hypoechoic focus 0.9x0.4 with enhanced through transmission consistent w/simple cyst.  Birads 2... benign findings.  Next mammo December 2009 - Bilateral dense breast tissue - Multiple scattered calcifications left breast predominantly upper outer quadrant - these are new.  Some appear to layer on the MLO view.  Are likely milk of calcium and microcysts.  Birads 2... Same day December 2009 bilateral breast US.  No evidence of cyst or mass within the left breast.  12 o'clock right breast 0/5x0.5x0.4 cm hypoechoic lesion with internal echoes with shadowing.  Probably a complex cyst.  Bilateral cysts noted.  Recommend 6 month follow up with ultrasound.  Birads 3 - SHOULD I BE CONCERNED WITH LESION and/or CALCIFICATIONS?  SHOULD I GET A BIOPSY NOW OR WAIT FOR THE 6 MONTH FOLLOW UP?

Answer
Well with dense breasts you should also have MRI breast scans to be more on the safe side and since there has been a change in evaluation I think stereotactically and ultrasound guided needle biopsies would be of value.

I have some computer problems so unfortunately my reply is delayed.
