Birth Control Pill Effectiveness: What Happens with Timing?
QuestionI was wondering... if I have to take my pill an hour or so later or before I usually take it, such as at 11pm instead of 10... am I still protected from pregnancy or should I be concerned that the strength of my pill is weaker?
AnswerHi Emily,
I'm not a medical professional but in my opinion, just an hour or so should not change the effectiveness of the pill. But of course you know that taking the birth control pill exactly correctly still does not insure 100% that you won't get pregnant or get a sexually transmitted disease. Are you having any side effects or problems from the hormonal birth control pills?
Sincerely,
Diane Cheryl
