QuestionI am on the pill, i take it everynight at the same time. lately i have been very moody and am continuing to gain weight even thought i eat well and exercise regularly. Last month i didn't get my period because i ran two pill packs together so i wouldnt get my period when on vacation. Can i be pregnant? What should i do??
AnswerHi Ashlee!
Well first, let me say that although the pill is listed at 96-99% effective, it rarely is that effective at preventing pregnancy. These statistics are only accurate when taken under absolutely ideal circumstances. The fact that you take the pill at the same time every night does increase the effectiveness, but many things such as certain antibiotics decrease the effectiveness of some pills.
Sorry! I don't mean to get off subject. What I am trying to get at is that yes, there is always a possibility that you are pregnant, but the only sure way to tell is to take a pregnancy test.
Your moodiness and weight gain could be caused by many different things, including the hormones from the birth control pill. (Especially since you didn't take a break last month from the pill.)
I wish I could give you a better answer, but the best thing you can do is to take a home pregnancy test.
I hope this helps!
