What to Do If You Missed a Pill: Effects & Pregnancy Risk

Question
I went to take my pill one night and realized I skipped a pill by accident the night before so I just didn't take that one white pill and continued on with the pack.  It's been about 3 days now and I've been taking my pills regularly without having skipped that one while pill  a few days ago.  Is that bad for me and could I get pregnant if I don't use another method or birth control? And is there a chance my period will be irregular this month?

Thanks for your help.

Answer
Hi Randi,
Thanks for you question. I just had another question like this and I advised them and you to check with your physician. I'm not a medical doctor but according to my information, you have to take the pills correctly to have a greater chance of preventing pregnancy. But even if you take them perfectly correctly, you can still get pregnant-it's not 100% foolproof.
Yes, there is a chance your period could be irregular. Look at some of my other answers about the way the birth control pill works and side effects. Or you can email me at DCHERYL51@yahoo.com and I can email you back with more information about this.
Sincerely,
