Birth Control for Teenagers: Options & Parental Consent

Question
I went to your website and did not see this question. so, here it is.
I am 17 years old and have been with my b/f for a year and a half and have been through two "false pregnancy scares". We almost always use a condom, but sometimes...well you know how it can be...well, i have decided i want to get on birth control. but my mom isnt for it. but i still need to get on birth control, and i know i can go without her consent and all, but do i have to go back to a doctors appointment every month? I work and go to school so it would be hard to sneak and keep and appt. with a doctor every month. what can i do about this, if anything?   and thanks for your time.

Answer
It depends on the type of birth control that you get on. If you get on the pill, then no, you don't have to go in every month. I think that the only reason why you would have to go in every month would be if you decided to go on a shot that had to be injected every month.
