Delayed Period After Birth Control: Understanding Hormonal Changes

I stopped my birth control about a month ago and still have not recieved my period.  I took a pregnancy test and 2 were negative, is it possible it is delayed due to the imbalance of my hormones?

Yes, you are correct that your period could be delayed because of hormones. The hormones in the pill try to make your body feel like it is pregnant all the time except the last week's pills. It could take 3-6 months time to get back to a normal cycle. However, it is true that you can sometimes get pregnant before that time. Are you trying to get pregnant at this point?
