QuestionI am on my first month of Yaz birth control and am on my last pink (active) pill. I have been taking the pills at the same time throughout the month and have never missed a pill. My nipples are sore, however, and was wondering if this is a normal side effect?
I was on Provera earlier this year and it gave me extremely sore nipples, I lost weight, and caused nausea. With the Yaz I just have slight headaches, some nausea, and sore nipples that are no were near as painful as when I was on the Provera.
Do you believe that nipple soreness is just my body's way of reacting to the progestrone in both medications?
Thank you.
AnswerHello Megan.
I can't really answer this question because I am not a medical professional but I would advise you to consult your own physician.
In my opinion, it could be a side effect of this hormonal birth control method. I would say that there was a possibility of pregnancy because of this symptom but since you had this side effect from provera earlier this year, I would hate to say pregnancy in your case. If you ever do want to have a free pregnancy test, you can go to http://www.optionline.org or call 1-800-395-HELP. Please email me at DCHERYL51@yahoo.com and we can talk more.
