Understanding Periods After Stopping Birth Control Pills
QuestionI have been on the pill for about 3 months. However, on my third packet of pills, i stopped after only 2 weeks (and have not been on since) and a few days later had what i thought was a period (it was heavy for a day only). I am not sure if i should consider this as my period since it was only after 2 weeks, or should i expect my "real" period to come when i had normally anticipated (which would be an additional 2 weeks later)?
AnswerWhen you stop taking the pill the way it's prescribed there is no predicting how your body will respond. You do have to wait until your cycles return to normal to be able to tell what is going on. I don't know when that will be. Probably a couple of months will settle itself again.
