Post-Loestrin 24: What to Expect During and After Coming Off Birth Control

Hi Diana!

I have been on Loestrin 24 for almost 4 years.  I took my last "active" pill last Friday.  I had my period Mon- Thurs, as normal.  I did not start my new pack (supposed to start Tuesday).  I felt a little dizzy Mon- Wed, it went away.  For the past 3 days I've felt very weepy and hormonal....so over it! UGH!!

How long does this hormonal fluctuation usually last?  Am I pretty much out of the woods for any additional effects of coming off of the pill?  I've been through a lot the past 2 years and am ready to be in control of my emotions and my life again.

Any heads up about what to extpect from this whole stiuation would be so very greatly appreciated!

Hey,

Yeah, that is totally normal to happen as your body is adjusting to this huge change in ammount of female hormones. It might last for as long as a few weeks while your body gets used to doing things for itself again. Basically, while you're waiting for things to sort out, be gentle with yourself. Have a bubble bath, and try not to stress.
