Late Pill Pack & Potential Pregnancy: What To Do?

Question
My husband and I PLANNED to try for a baby. I began my period on the 10th, finished on the 14th, and did not start a new pack. 3 days after I should have begun my new pack, we then had a major financial setback. We decided that while we really wanted one, we would hold off, but would do nothing to stop it if something had happened (i.e. I wouldn't take the morning after pill or anything). So I began my new pack 4 days late (so, like, I missed 3 pills, for a total of 10 days off the pill). We had sex on those 3 missed days, and on the following 7 days, up to Christmas morning. I had NO SIGNS of ovulation, like mucous thickening, etc. and I was supposed to ovulate on the 24th But I still wonder.....What are my chances of being pregnant? Can you ovulate and NOT show signs, like mucous thickening? We would not be upset if I WAS pregnant, we're just trying to (RE) plan....

Answer
Hi Jessie,
Most women don't ovulate while taking the pill.  Perhaps you're different and do, but even if you did, taking the pill could decrease the mucous changes.  I think it's unlikely that you're pregnant.  I would keep taking the pill.  If your next period doesn't come when it's supposed to, then do a pregnancy test, but I think pregnancy is quite unlikely.  Best wishes.
