Ortho Tri-Cyclen Skipping Pills: Effectiveness & Safety Concerns
QuestionI am currently on the ortho tricylen lo. The last check up I had; my health care provider told me I could take them in a way that would cause me not to have a period(skipping the green and going straight to a new pack) That's what I did last month to try it out but started bleeding a little bit the past week and a half. So now I'm starting to question what she told me. Is this still as effective and safe as taking it the traditional way? I'm worried that my body is confused and hormones are not working properly...??
AnswerHi Melissa,
I don't agree with skipping the pills and starting a new pack. I think that our bodies were made to have a normal cycle and skipping that is not natural or healthy. Menstruation is our body's way of cleaning out. I don't know why doctor's and health care providers are suggesting this unnatural way. It concerns me. I'm glad you are questioning this.
I also really don't recommend hormonal birth control methods at all. I feel that this is unhealthy as well. I do recommend condoms or Natural Family Planning. Please email me at CHERYL51@aol.com and we can talk more.
Thanks for your question and hope to hear from you soon.
Sincerely,
Diane Cheryl
