Mirena IUD & Delayed Period: Possible Causes & When to Seek Help
QuestionI have had the Mirena IUD for 5 months now and this month my period is 3 weeks late, I took a pregnancy test and it was negative but I'v been having sharp stabbing pain in the left lower side of my belly like in my ovary or near it. Its pretty painful and my back has been hurting I don't have insurance so I dont want to just go to the doctor until I have some sort of idea of if it is normal or not. Thank you!
AnswerDear Sabrina,
I'm sorry to hear of your problem. I hope you are better by now. If you can't afford a doctor, perhaps there is a free or low-cost clinic near you. I would be concerned about the pain and I think you definitely need to find out what is the situation. There can be side effects from the Mirena IUD. I don't recommend it at all and have heard stories from women about problems and side effects. So try to look around and see what help you can get in finding a doctor you can afford.
