Understanding Frequent or Painful Periods: What to Do

Good morning Diane!

Please help. I've had two periods this month; the first one ended on the 3rd of July 2012 and the second started 10 days after, on the 13th of July 2012, ended this morning.

I've taken the morning after pill (Postinor 2) twice between the 25th of June and the 8th of July. I'm worried because both periods were very painful (the second more than the first), and I bled a lot more than I normally do. Is anything wrong with me? I am 26 years old.

Dear Chico,

Thanks for your question.  The morning after pill can affect your natural period cycle. So this could have been because of that. The hormones can alter your cycle. Also, the bleeding could be a side effect as well. Have you found out anything yet? If you are still having problems, please consult your doctor. Let me know any updates.
