Unexpected Pregnancy After Abortion: Understanding What Happened

I waited to long to have an abortion and then i did decide i was about 18wks, after the abortion i had pain but no bleeding then at 19wks i found out i was still pregnant.  My boyfriend is questioning on how this is possible.  I have heard of abortions of not working but why did this happen to me?

Of course the doc who did the operation could see if it was succesful or not.
How did your bf find out you were still pregnant ?

Advise: go back to the clinic or practise where you had your abortion and have an ultrasound made.
