AnswerDear Lovely,
I'm sorry this situation continues to be so difficult. There is absolutely no problem waiting, and doing nothing. Medically, it is completely safe to just let the body pass the tissue when it's ready to. The most difficult part of this is the anxiety of waiting to bleed. This can be difficult when you know something is there that needs to pass, and you don't know when. Alternatively, I would repeat the misoprostol 800 mg at one time (not in two doses- this is not effective). If she doesn't bleed, she can repeat the 800 mg dose 24 hours later. If she does this, make sure she has some pain medication before she takes the misoprostol (800 mg motrin or 550 mg naprosyn).
I hope this is helpful,
Doctor Joan
