Post-Termination Bleeding: Causes, Concerns & Travel Advice

Hello Doctor,
I had a 24 week termination due to fetus abnormality. This is my 4th week after termination, but I am still bleeding. I have contacted my doctor and got the sonography done to see if my uterus is empty. The report shows clear and nothing there. Also my doctor adviced some tablets for stopping the bleeding. But it did not help. Please advice what could be the problem. Also I need to take a long distance flight travel in few days. Please advice.

Hello Nita,

It is very important to take care of your health at this time. We have heard many reports lately of excessive bleeding after abortion. You need to find out what is the problem and take care of it. You could develop anemia or other problems from this. Please get a 2nd opinion or consult your original doctor and get help. I don't know if you have already taken the flight but if not, consult your physician. I am not a physician but I have researched abortion for over 20 years.
