But i noticed to see a week ago i had some white glands and white discharge ..on 25th Dec.. i am having a brown discharge now for the last 3 days ...but they are not continuous.... can u please tell me does this mean i will get my period in few days or will i have to chk with doctor if my abortion was complete or incomplete. As i had heavy bleeding last month i thought my period is delaying. I am very confused... Can you please help me with my issue

ANSWER: Hello, Jay,

You sound like your body has been messed up very badly. It is almost always dangerous to self-medicate, and since you didn't consult a doctor, that's what you did. You didn't say how far along you were, and that's important. The other thing that worries me is that you took Cytotec (zitotec). This medication is very dangerous and should never be taken by a pregnant woman. Women in India are bleeding to death after taking it.

You need to have a doctor check you out thoroughly. He should look for an incomplete abortion and for infection. If you develop heavy bleeding again, make sure you are eating spicy foods with cayenne hot red peppers in them, regularly.

Unless you go to the doctor and have him check you out, I really won't be able to tell you any more. Just don't take such a chance again. These pills can be deadly. Please take care of yourself. Let me know what you find out.

QUESTION: So Do you think i will not get my period again... and my abortion could have not completed inspite of heavy bleeding.

Jay

ANSWER: Hi, Jay,

No, I don't know that you won't get your period again. You have to wait until your hormones settle out. That may take weeks. If you don't take any other hormones, it will probably happen eventually, though I have heard from women here who haven't had a period for a couple of years. I am not familiar with the mechanism for that, but I will check into it. But that's the sort of risk you take when you have an abortion.

Yes, you can bleed profusely and not complete the abortion. It depends partly on how far along you were, in part. Please let me know. It's important, and I can provide more information if you tell me.

You may also want to learn how to tell when you are fertile, because the period starts about 14 days after ovulation day. You can't be using any hormones, and you have to chart faithfully. But you can watch for signs of fertility now, and then see if you have your period after that. To find out more, go here:

Please take care of yourself, and get a doctor to check you out.

QUESTION: Thanks for your reply, I understand what you are trying to tell me. The last time I got a proper period was on Oct 2nd week. after which i did not have it in November and when i did a home  pregnancy test, i got it confirmed and then i took abortion pill in the last week of Nov ie 23rd. I will usually have period on my 28 days cycle and have never got it missed. It used to be very regular.

Answer
Hi, Jay,

I am glad you found my explanations helpful.

Don't count on your period returning to normality. You disrupted it severely, and nobody knows whether it will become regular again or not. That's why learning to tell when you are fertile can help tremendously.

You took the pills rather late. At that point, they may or may not work. Do you still have any symptoms of pregnancy? What does your pregnancy test show now?

You must be alert for the possibility of developing breast cancer in the future. If you have breast cancer in your immediate family, it is pretty much inevitable. Don't let them do mammograms. Try to find someone who will do thermograms for you. Do some research on the internet about using Vitamin D3 to prevent breast cancer. Let me know if you have difficulty with this.

You will need to take care of yourself and refrain from using such powerful medications. Then you will have to wait and see what your body does. Good luck! Feel free to come back and ask other questions any time.
